Vulani Baloyi
Vulani Baloyi is a writer, mother, and seeker of deep spiritual alignment whose life was profoundly transformed by the intersection of medical adversity and the universal language of music. Following a life-altering diagnosis of Stage D cardiac failure, Vulani navigated the thin line between physical fragility and spiritual resilience, ultimately discovering a path to profound restoration.
Her debut Memoir, How I Found My Healing in the Music of a Stranger, stands as a courageous testament to vulnerability. What initially began as a private, therapeutic journey to process the heavy, clinical silence of a critical illness through twenty-nine songs evolved into a powerful, multi-generational prophetic
blessing for her son, Andile Ndalama as he completed his third decade of life. Crucially, this pilgrimage also unlocked an ancient vault of childhood trauma, allowing her to finally find the grace after forty-four years to forgive her late mother and step into absolute emotional deliverance.
Through her raw and evocative storytelling, Vulani bridges the worlds of cardiac survival, South African Afro-jazz, and divine healing, offering a sanctuary of hope for anyone searching for their voice in the midst of life’s deepest storms. When she is not writing, she is a dedicated mother, daughter, and sister.
Professionally, she serves as a passionate public servant advocating for justice and good governance, while simultaneously working as a dedicated community builder. In every role, she is committed to making the world a better place, championing the legacy of her family, and listening closely to the rhythms of life.
She resides in South Africa, where she continues to let the music guide her path.
